The same crew that made Ashcroft was in Mission, minus Terry and Stobbe, but additional GGD regulars Corvette Bob with his ’57, Eddie Tamas and his ’66 Chev Van, El Chupacabra and its’ handlers Pat and Chris, Tim McBryan and his ’39 Pontiac “Two Door Tee Pee”. Darrel Kendal and his ’30 Ford, a regular of the OTDs joined the gassers and we saw the return of Dave “Sparky” Gambill and his ‘60 Chev. With these additional cars we had a field of 17, the biggest turnout for a Gasser Get Down yet. Klaus was in fine form taking out A. Wade and then Pete P and his ’66 Plymouth, but he couldn’t get past Pat and El Chupacabra. Chupy went up against Gambill for a squeaker of a run that put Gambill on the trailer.

Unfortunately, John’s Fairlaine, Darcy’s Chevelle and Rod and his Chevy were all unable to make it to eliminations due to various mechanical issues.  The cold reality of drag racing; sometimes you make it to the track, just not down it.

Congratulations to Klaus Schierbeck, 2015 ‘Get-Down champ, good thing you skipped that vacation!
Thank you to everyone involved in the Gasser Get Down, to the fans that cheer everyone on, the Langley Loafers for having us at their event and to sponsors like CHRM that help get the word out. See you at the track next year!
